I found myself this week at my local Ross trying to find a pair of gold heels for an outfit I was going to wear for my cousin's wedding (I am super thrifty, so if I need something, I will be shopping at a local bargain type store..very rare for me to go shopping at a mall). Long story short, I didn't find a pair I liked (which was okay since I had a back up pair at home). As I was leaving, I came across a pair of shoes, not to go with my wedding outfit but a freakn cute pair of shoes. They are a fashion Oxford style shoe. what caught my eye is the color; they are a soft grey. I am such a fan of grey shoes. I have no idea why, but they are versatile with my wardrobe. So anywho, I have always been a fan of Oxford shoes for women, but felt too bottom heavy to pull them off fashionably. I decided to give them a shot and tried them on. I instantly loved the way they looked and felt. With all my weighloss, I felt more comfortable with the way they looked on me, and they were under $20. Sold!! So I went home and was super excited. Then it hit me. What the hell am I going to wear with these adorable shoes? My first thought was 'crap, Im going to have to go and buy me some new clothes'. Then I quickly Googled some outfit ideas on pinterest (I love pinterest btw!). So I did the unthinkable... I took a deep breath and I opened my closet. I know, doesn't seem like a big deal..but you never seen my closet. I am NOT organized when it comes to my clothes. I have crap all mixed in an half the time falling off the hangers. So I decided, what the hell, let me pull everything out and do a little organizing. OMG, best idea ever! I got rid of clothes that were too big, didn't fit right, or just not my style anymore. Then I grouped everything together. Jean's with jeans, blazers with blazers, dresses with dress...you get the point. All in all, I LOVE the way my closet looks now. I didn't color code or anything, cuz I knew I wouldn't keep up with it if I did. But I found clothed I completely forgot about, and realized I have plenty of clothes to work with in regards to matching up with my new shoes. Also, having all my clothes out, I was able to visually pair things together that I havnt before and create new-ish outfits. I don't think I will be needing new clothes for a while. And it all started with a cute pair of shoes:)
