We bought a bunch of stuff and only spent 25 bucks for the day (score!) My mom bought a vintage chair, a metal shelving unit, and some kitchen items. I found the whole Fifty Shades of Gray series for 10 cents each (who does that?) Over all it isn't the hunting and spending that makes the whole garage saling a hit for me. It's spending the quality time with my mother and the small chit chats we have. My mother and I have always had a great relationship. She had me young so I feel like we grew up together in a sense; we are always mistaken for sisters. Don't get me wrong, I still have the respect for her as my mother but I do consider her a friend as well. She was definitely the cool mom growing up; all my friends befriended her and loved hanging out with her as much as they did me. Even though she was the cool mom, she was all about having good morals. (she wasn't the mom that we smoked with or drank around-she would of had heart failure if I ever considered doing those things). But she was the mom that took me and my friend toilet papering houses (of people we knew of course), took us to take pictures (because in the 90's everyone would take wallet pictures at the mall- at least where I live we did), and would take us on random trips out of town. She is everything I hope to be one day. And I can only hope that my daughter's and I have a similar relationship.
Okay totally got off track and got mushy. Anyways, I love finding awesome items at garage sales. If we had more time, we probably would of ended our garage sale adventure with a few thrift stores, but it was the 4th and we had to get my mom's house ready for family to come over. Can't wait till our next garage saling adventure. May be a while since we tend to be booked business wise on weekends. Do you go garage saling? Do you have rules you try and follow when making purchases? I would love to hear all about it:)
