Gone Girl- The movie

I finally did it.  I watched "Gone Girl".  I heard all these amazing things about this movie, but for some reason had no interest in watching it.  I think it had to do with the fact that Ben Affleck was in it.  I used to love him as an actor, but lately I just haven't been feeling his films.  And to top it off, he is going to portraying Batman in the upcoming "Batman" film. Ugh...isn't he Daredevil already?? Superhero's arn't supposed to become other superhero's...doesn't that go against some  sort of Superhero code?  Anyways back on topic.  Me and my husband were kid-less for a few hours (which is rare) and we decided to watch a movie together. "Gone girl" was being featured on On Demand, so I figured what the hell, let's give it a go. Man oh man, I am so glad I did. "Gone Girl" is a Physiological thriller. It stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. Set in the Midwestern United States, the film's story begins as a mystery which follows the events surrounding Nick Dunne (Affleck), who becomes the primary suspect in the sudden disappearance of his wife, Amy (Pike).
The first thing that I noticed was how much Rosamund Pike looked so much like Kelly Rutherford (Lily from Gossip Girl). A much younger version, but the resemblance to me is undeniable..They could be siblings ( I know, I get sidetracked too easily lol). After I got over their resemblance, I focused in on the story in front of me.  From the get go, I felt like Nick was being set up by his wife.  I was a little bummed, thinking I had figured the movie out before the director revealed this, but then the story took me for a spin. I won't say much more to avoid spoiling it for any readers who have yet to see the film.  All I know is I HAVE to read the book. I need to see if the book is much different from the movie and of course see of the book is better (because let's face it, the book usually is:).
